6-Day Season for the Calving of Wildebeest in Ndutu Area

The 6-Day Season for Wildebeest Calving in the Ndutu Area is one of Tanzania’s most amazing wildlife events, giving visitors a special chance to see one of nature’s biggest and most exciting sights. Every year from December to March, the rich grasslands of the Ndutu area in the southern part of the Serengeti become the place where the Great Wildebeest Migration starts, and over 500,000 baby wildebeests are born in just a few weeks. During the busiest time for calving, around 4,000 to 8,000 baby cows are born every day, offering amazing chances to watch the cycle of life happen right before your eyes. Newborn calves learn to stand and run just a few minutes after they are born.At the same time, predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas are moving around the open plains looking for young animals that are easy to catch. For wildlife enthusiasts and photographers, this is one of Africa’s most exciting safari adventures.

At Continental Travel & Tours, we create this safari with care to give you the best chances to see wildlife, along with top comfort, expert guides, and amazing memories that you’ll cherish forever.

Why Should You Choose the 6-Day Season for Seeing Wildebeest Calving in the Ndutu Area?

The 6-Day Season for the Calving of Wildebeest in Ndutu Area offers much more than a regular safari experience. It gives you a great view of one of the biggest wildlife events in the world, where thousands of baby wildebeest start their lives on the wide open grasslands of the southern Serengeti.

Unlike the well-known river crossings that happen later in the migration, the calving season is all about new life being born, increased predator activity, and great chances for photography. People often see lions quietly moving toward their food, cheetahs running fast over flat grasslands, hyenas looking for leftovers, and jackals looking for baby cows. Each game drive brings different wildlife experiences that vary every hour.

This safari is great for wildlife photographers, people who love making documentaries, families, couples, and anyone wanting a real African safari experience during one of the busiest times of the animal migration.
